Applying for Testing
If you wish to participate in the Galbraith Surname DNA Testing Project, please go to the following Family Tree DNA website address and fill out and submit the short application form:

After you submit this application form, you will be contaced by one of the Clan Galbraith Association administrators of the DNA project who, if you qualify for testing, will give you a link to the FTDNA website page where you can order your DNA test kit. You must be a Galbraith or other surname spelling variant and submit a Family History form (see link to the online form, below) to qualify for testing.
If you order the YDNA-25 or higher test (we recommend the YDNA-37 test), you will be given a free one year membership to the Clan Galbraith Association. All new members are required to submit a Membership Application and Family History form. Our online form can be found HERE. When you order your kit from FTDNA, it should be shipped to you the next business day. You may pay for the kit at the time your order it with a credit card or you may send your payment by check when you return your kit to FTDNA
All submitted information will remain confidential and will not be made available to other parties in any form that can be identified with you, personally. This information will be used in the analysis of the DNA project results to identify connections between the main Galbraith lines.
As a condition of participating in the Galbraith Surname DNA Testing Project, you agree to release the Clan Galbraith Association and the Project Coordinators from any potential liability resulting from any results of the testing program that may not be to your liking, or to any inadvertent release of information by the above parties. . In addition, the Family Histories of Clan Galbraith Members may be used to add to our online genealogy database, but no information on living persons will be included in the database, except the name of the contributor of the information.
