After looking at the web site, I would be interested if the clan meeting is in the southeastern U.S. in 2008. For information purposes, my father was William Robert Galbraith, grandfather- Calvin Earnest Galbraith, great-grandfather - William A. Galbraith. My son has the same name as I and my grandson's name is Robert Hunter Galbraith.

Hello I have always wondered which clan I haled from. My father's Full name is John Gregory Galbraith not a Jr. born In Spartanburg SC, His Father was was also named John Gregory Munford Galbraith. He graduated from Wofford College and became Capt in the WWI. He later became an Attorney for the Spartanburg Water Works. As far as I now he did not have a brother or Sister. From the records I have seen His father was Richard David (or Davis) Galbraith not real sure on the Middle name all I have is his Initals R.D. Galbraith and I think was a drummer boy in the confedrate Army and kept going to all of the reunions and was promoted to Brig. General of the Commander 2nd Brigade SC Div. UCV . From my understand he was orginally in Virgina and then moved to Spartanburg after his first son was killed in a drowning accident? I really do not know if that is true or not. That is far as have been able to get. I am very interested in finding more about my name sake. I read your newsletter and thought the DNA testing would be a great way to find out which side of the clan I belong. I can tell you that John Gregory Munford Galbraith Married an Oland in Spartanburg SC. Mary Oland actually. My Aunt Tish Galbraith has research the Oland side of the family but not my Dad's. IF you could find out more about my family tree that would be great. Oh by the way my name is Gregory Munford Galbraith. Thanks

I've been wanting to start tracing my family, but don't really know where to start or how to go about it. I can trace back to my great-great-grandfather, Hoxie Perry. I don't have the dates of birth or death, but know where they are buried. My grandfather, Hugh D Galbreath, was born in 1909 in Brownwood, Texas. He was the son of Carl Edward Galbreath. My father is also Carl Edward Galbreath (San Marcos, Texas 1947). All 5 generations (me thru Hoxie) are from Central Texas. Hoxie Perry is buried in Austin. Story goes that our ancestors came to Texas from Pennsylvania by way of North Carolina. I'd love to be able to figure out exactly when and where my family came.

I descend from David Gilbreath, son of Hugh Gilbreath, whom resided in Bledsoe Co,TN. His Youngest Daughter Sarah L was my great great Grandmother, She married Alfred Burton Dye about 1855 in Bledsoe Co, TN. She is living with her mother Elizabeth on the 1850 Census name spelled Galbraith/Gilbraith. Sarah Gilbreath & Alfred Dye lived in Sequatchie Co, TN in 1860, and Bledsoe Co, TN in 1870, and finally Dunklin Co, MO until she died in 1917.

Interesting and informative site. I plan to join soon. I am a descendant of Alexander Galbraith (b. around 1720, d. 1792), who married Agnes Miller. Many decendants settled around Roane County, TN, the area in which I reside.

We just became a member to CGA late last night. Have to admit it was pretty exciting. Not sure exactly where our family line runs back to so no better way to begin the family research then by joining the "clan" We have had a family goal to settle our little family in Scotland within the next two years but are still over-whelmed as to how and where to live, jobs education and sorts. We are preparing to sell our home within the next few months, down size and save save save to take a long trip abroad to find out where to settle. Any insight or suggestions is most appreciative, Ryan a Photojournalist and Photographs Weddings, Sports, Ballet and other freelance for over 18yrs. Katie currently attending college in Horticulture/Mstr. Gardening and currently has a business designing landscapes and would like to continue her education abroad. And last but not least two children and two dogs. Blessed Be to all and cheers to Scotch

My grandfather was George Oliver Galbraith of Michigan born 1877. From census research, I have discovered my great grandfather, John Galbraith born in Pennslyvania about 1849 but am lost as far as going back any further. John Galbraith's wife was named Johanna born about 1853 in Ohio. Does anyone have any information that might help?
